Our Story
Velora VFX began as the vision of three Bournemouth University graduates — Ben Bayliss, Anthony Hampshire, and Joel Dutton — who came together under the name Last Light Films to explore their shared passion for storytelling and visual effects. As the company grew, Ben and Anthony took on the venture full time, while Joel continued to contribute as a trusted freelance collaborator. Rebranded as Velora VFX, the studio reflects their ambition to merge cinematic artistry with cutting-edge techniques, building a creative force that delivers bold, visually striking work for brands and audiences alike.
Meet the Founders:
Ben Bayliss
Raised in the English countryside, he discovered a passion for film from an early age. While studying Media Production at college, he taught himself VFX tools in his own time, sparking a deeper interest in visual effects. This led him to pursue VFX at Bournemouth University, where he completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees. Driven by a fascination with impactful advertising and dynamic short-form content, he co-founded Velora VFX (formerly Last Light Films) and moved to London, where in 2025 he launched a dedicated social media production house.

Anthony Hampshire
Born and raised on the Isle of Wight, Anthony discovered visual effects at the age of 12 through his early experiments with entry-level software. What began as a creative hobby soon evolved into a lifelong passion, inspiring him to pursue VFX at Bournemouth University, where he went on to complete both his undergraduate and master’s degrees.
